The University Writing Center (UWC) is excited to announce several recent staff promotions.

Florence Davies (’09) is now the writing center’s Associate Director. Davies, who first worked for the UWC as an undergraduate consultant, has been a member of the fulltime staff since 2013.
Davies has an MFA in creative writing from Stony Brook University and has previously worked as a screener for Callaloo and taught for the non-profit Writers in the Schools. Davies has inspired and mentored many aspiring Aggie writers in her years on campus: she founded and ran the UWC’s now-defunct Black Box Writers’ Residency program and served for many years as an advisor to The Eckleburg Project, an undergraduate literary magazine.

In her new role, Davies will manage the UWC’s assessment efforts and take on more supervisory duties while continuing to oversee the center’s peer consultant training program and media content creation.

Tiffany Tigges (‘18) has been promoted to Program Coordinator II. Tigges, who worked for the UWC as an undergraduate peer consultant, has been on the full-time staff since 2018. Tiffany’s primary role at the UWC is managing our classroom workshop program, which typically involves organizing anywhere from 70 to 100 workshops per semester.

Daniel Mueller (’18) is also now a Program Coordinator II. Mueller, who also started out with the UWC as an undergraduate peer consultant, oversees the UWC’s Dissertation Article and Thesis Assistance (DATA) program and organizes our campus events, including our monthly Writing Café. He’s also the force behind our Aggie Creative Collective thesis program, while also teaching peer consultant training classes and assisting with the media team.

Macy Dunklin has also been promoted to the position of Program Coordinator II. Dunklin, currently a doctoral candidate in Communication at Texas A&M, manages much of our graduate programming, including our online writing groups and graduate workshop series. They also serve as our office’s liaison to the GRAD Aggies program and teaches peer consultant training classes.
