Macy is from Charlotte, North Carolina. They graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.A. in German Language and Culture Studies. After teaching abroad, Macy returned to UNCC for their M.A. in English with a focus on linguistics. Over the last few years, Macy has been an ESL, FIrst-year writing, and public speaking instructor. Nevertheless, their heart has always been in writing center work due to the interpersonal relationships with students and the opportunity to support students in and outside the classroom.
In their role at the Texas A&M Writing Center, Macy runs the Write Line program, manages the Canvas Resources page, and supports other administrators. They are especially passionate about providing resources and professional development opportunities for graduate students.
