This workshop discusses the function of literature reviews and their presence in many different genres of graduate writing. We cover both literature reviews that summarize the current state of knowledge on a topic as well as literature reviews meant to contextualize a research study by identifying a gap in the scholarship (such as a thesis or dissertation). The material covers different ways of organizing literature reviews as well as various methods of citing literature.
