The University Writing Center and the Career Center are collaborating on a statement of purpose/personal statement workshop for graduate school admissions on Wednesday, April 14th at 5:30 pm.

The personal statement/statement of purpose is your opportunity to showcase what makes you stand out among applicants. This statement allows you to discuss topics such as your professional/career plans, academic objectives, experience, and reasons you believe you are a good fit for a specific program. This workshop will discuss what types of content to include, how to tailor a personal statement to your program of interest, and how to make it meaningful so that the reader remembers you as a stand-out applicant. This workshop includes various activities throughout the session to help students get a solid grip on concepts related to statement writing.

This colloborative workshop will be held online on Zoom. To register for this workshop, visit this link:  tx.ag/personalstatement
