{Florence Davies promoted to Assistant Director}

Release Date: Monday, Apr 19, 2021
We are delighted to announce that Florence Davies has been promoted to the position of Assistant Director of the University Writing Center. Flo has been part of the UWC's full-time staff for 8 years, having previously been a peer writing/speaking consultant while earning her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M. Flo also has a masters degree in creative writing from Stony Brook University. Her creative writing background has been evident in her work at the UWC, where she founded and directed the center's Black Box Writers Residency, a program to develop undergraduate creative writers at Texas A&M. That program was a precursor to another program Flo currently helps manage, the Aggie Creative Collective, which nurtures talented undergraduate writers and visual artists. In her new role, Flo will assist the center's director and executive director, while continuing to develop and lead the center's tutor training and supervising the graduate student team leaders. She will also continue to oversee the UWC's media and marketing efforts. Congratulations, Flo!
