International Student Workshops

We’ll be back with more workshops in the fall. Check our website for the full workshop schedule at the beginning of the fall semester. Hope to see you then!

The University Writing Center offers a series of workshops throughout the semester exclusively for international students. These workshops are held once a week, cover a variety of topics, and are designed to help students improve their academic writing and public speaking skills. Each workshop covers appropriate ways to communicate from an American cultural perspective.

Some previous topics include:

  • Research and Library Resources
  • Emails and Memos
  • Getting Started on a Thesis or Dissertation
  • Grammar
  • American Conversational Communication
  • Plagiarism and Citation Styles
  • Presentation Preparation
  • Academic Posters
  • Interviews and Resumes (Cosponsored by the Career Center)

These topics are only samples and are not guaranteed to be offered in future semesters.

Links for registration will be posted on the University Writing Center’s upcoming events calendar closer to their start date. Everyone is welcome, but we ask that you register before the event so we know how many students to plan for. Registration opens one week before each workshop.

If you have any questions, call 979-458-1455.
