Technology Training Workshops for Faculty and Staff

Due to the significant and positive response to the recently-announced technology workshops, the Center for Employee Education has added sessions. The workshops are available for all employees and are free to faculty members, teaching assistants and staff who use technology in the development and/or instruction of Texas A&M academic courses. The following courses are offered in March, April and May:


 
  • Creating PDFs with Adobe Acrobat: Learn the basics of creating and manipulating Portable Document Format (PDF) files that can be viewed and printed on any computer platform in exactly the format in which they were created. Offered March 19 and April 11 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Creating Technology Enhanced Presentations: Learn how to enhance Microsoft PowerPoint presentations using the latest technology. Offered March 31 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and May 8 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Making Quick Image Adjustments in Adobe Photoshop: Learn to clean up images and make minor adjustments as well as save the images to the appropriate file format for web or print use. Offered March 28 and May 1 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
  • Grading Papers Electronically: Learn to use Microsoft Word 2007 to electronically grade papers, helping to create a paperless learning environment. Offered April 9 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and May 6 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
  • Creating an Electronic Grade Book: Learn how to develop a grade book using Microsoft Excel 2007, calculate basic statistics, create templates and upload the grade book to Blackboard Vista. Offered April 18 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and May 15 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
  • Creating Your Personal Web Page: Learn how to create a basic personal web page quickly using Adobe Dreamweaver and how to upload the page to the web. Offered April 15 and May 7 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
