BIOL 455 Immunology lab

College of Science / Biology

Expiration Date: 9/1/10

Name changed Fall 07 from MICRO 455 to BIOL 455

We recommend that MICR 455, Immunology Lab, be certified as a writing-intensive (W) course for the next four academic years (11/06 to 9/10). We have reviewed a representative syllabus and have determined that the course meets or exceeds the following criteria:

1.    Percentage of final grade based on writing quality: 60 %
2.    Course content appropriate to the major
3.    Total number of words: 3000-4000
4.    Instructor to student ratio for one section: 1:20

Immunology Lab is a two-credit upper-level course appropriate for biology majors. Students will answer various discussion questions and write conclusions based on laboratory readings and results.  Students will receive feedback on lab reports, journals and worksheets. Writing instruction will be offered in the form of workshops and by using models to demonstrate writing objectives.
