Although the workshop takes place over a five-week period, it includes only two in-person coffee-and-Danish meetings. You'll complete the workshop having discussed approaches, tips, and challenges with other writing instructors, and you'll have a drafted and reviewed assignment for your fall class. An orientation and kick-off gathering will occur Wednesday, May 14. After that meeting, we'll meet online over the next five weeks, concentrating on five of The Write Place for Faculty workshop modules. Accomplishing smaller but cumulative objectives, you can expect to spend only about an hour or two online each week. You'll do things like plan and draft an assignment prompt, discuss grading strategies, and consider potential writing course technologies. For a wrap up, we’ll meet again in Evans 204B from 9:30-11 AM on Wednesday, June 18.

Tidbits

To write well is...

To write well is to think well, to feel well, and to appear well; it is to possess at once intellect, soul, and taste.
