The University Writing Center encourages students to make appointments for one-on-one consultations. These sessions typically last 45 minutes, during which you meet with a certified and experienced writing consultant. Please review and understand the ground rules (below).
You may make appointments online or by calling the UWC at (979) 458-1455. If you have not yet made an appointment this semester, please create an account before making appointments by phone. We have a new scheduling system.
Note that you are limited to one appointment per day. Graduate students should note that consultations on theses and dissertations are limited to five.
Ground Rules
1. Got a quick question? Visit the front desk. If it will take longer than five minutes to answer, please make an appointment.
2. We do not discuss teacher grading policies.
3. The consultants aren't here to proofread or edit. Instead they will
address your proofreading and editing needs and help you to correct
your own errors.
4. Papers brought to the UWC must be original works written by the
student requesting help. We can help with documentation if requested.
5. Unless you notify us, your appointment will be forfeited if you are more than five minutes late.
6. It's up to you to establish the direction and content of the session.
7. Information from a session may be used for research, but your name will not be used.
8. Consultations are limited to one per day.
