Due to the pandemic, the UWC is not currently able to offer face-to-face appointments or walk-ins. All appointments will be conducted online or via web conference using Zoom. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 979-458-1455 if you need assistance. --March 15, 2020
The UWC offers in-person or online consultations with certified consultants for writing or public speaking projects.
In-person consultations are available at Evans Library year-round. Walk-in appointments are available at the Business Library & Collaboration Commons (formerly known as the West Campus Library) during the fall and spring semesters. At Evans, we recommend making an appointment. While we sometimes have same-day appointments available, we're usually very busy, and making an appointment is the only way to ensure you'll be seen.
You can make one appointment per day up to two weeks in advance. See Hours & Locations for more details.
The Business Library & Collaboration Commons on West Campus is open evenings and for drop-in consultations only from 5:30 p.m to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, during the fall and spring semesters.
In consultations, you'll receive personalized advice and assistance based on your project and your needs. We we'll focus on giving you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed. We can work with you at any stage of your project, from understanding assignments to developing and organizing content to revising your prose or practicing presentations. Group appointments are available for students working on group projects.
Need to provide a report of your visit? You'll need to let your consultant know, or contact us to send a report. We'll email the report to your university email, and you can forward then it as needed. We never share reports of your sessions unless you're involved in an issue related to academic integrity, and then we'll only share with a responsible university administrator.
Need help understanding your Turnitin.com report? Let us know on your entry survey, and we'll help you interpret your results and learn how to use sources effectively. However, we can't run reports for you.
If you need help with an HONORS UNDERGRADUATE THESIS, you're eligible for DATA.
Running late? Call us at 979-458-1455. We’ll hold your spot. To cancel, go online or call as soon as possible. If you get here more than 5 minutes late and have not called, your appointment might be given to someone else.
