Black Box Speaks, Spring 2015
is a junior at Texas A&M University, who recently transferred from a small private school in West Virginia. Originally from Austin, she has traveled to and lived in different states and countries, hoping to find inspiration for her writing. Aspiring to become a published writer someday, she submits articles online and enters many different writing contests to help establish herself as an author.

is a senior English and History double major from a small town that is just south of Austin and twice as weird. After graduating in May, Jasmina plans to move to Austin and pursue a career writing and publishing young adult fiction. Jasmina loves writing almost as much as she loves coffee, Spider-Man, Harry Potter

is a Texas-born-and-raised student of English at Texas A&M University. She has engaged in the art of writing since the age of 6, when she wrote stories about the family dog. Since then, she has explored broader genres of science fiction, fantasy, and adventure. Her new adventure novel will debut in the fall. When she’s not writing, Tiffany spends time with her family, from whom she draws much inspiration and encouragement.

Rodolfo Garcia Jr.
is a junior Philosophy major here at A&M. Statistically speaking, the person to your immediate left and right both have a higher max on bench press than he does. He is still in college because he has not yet perfected the almond/olive/blackberry/sunflower seed combined treat that is sure to be a success and sell well. Señor Garcia is involved with the Poetry Club here at A&M, and his favorite poets are e.e. cummings, Sylvia Plath, and Friedrich Nietzsche.
is a sophomore Psychology major at Texas A&M University where she currently resides. She published her first short story at the age of 18 in the premiere issue of Poe Forevermore Magazine
, based out of the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. She has loved writing stories and poems from a very young age. When not writing, Madison enjoys reading and watching Shakespeare, drawing, painting, photography, ballet, fencing, spending time with her West Highland White terrier Rufus, and listening to her mother attempt to convince her that books do not constitute furniture.
is a sophomore English Literature major and was born and raised in Clark, New Jersey. A self-proclaimed elephant lover and Britney Spears enthusiast, she blogs for The Eckleburg Project
, co-DJs a show with her twin sister on KANM Student Radio, and works for the University Writing Center. In addition to participating in the Black Box Writers Residency for poetry, Aubrey has had her prose published in The Eckleburg Project
, Texas A&M’s undergraduate literary magazine. Her literary inspirations include Chuck Palahniuk, William Shakespeare, and William Carlos Williams.
is a sophomore in the English department. Before coming to A&M, she planned on becoming a veterinarian, but decided against it after seeing a poor little puppy covered in maggots. Shailen enjoys challenges like, "You can't make a career with an English degree; that field is dying," or "You can't pass my class without reading the book." Her greatest accomplishment, above anything else, is making and cherishing new friends.
is a loud and proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2015—whoop! She is also a peanut butter sandwich snacking and basic pumpkin spice latte chugging Houstonian. Her life consists of eating, sleeping, and binge watching Avatar: The Last Airbender
. She has a fluffy white dog named Bun Bun who is nothing like Appa and thus disappoints her greatly. Once in a while, she actually writes something.
