{We're hiring!}

Release Date: Wednesday, Mar 08, 2017

The University Writing Center (UWC) is looking for undergraduates and grad students to begin working as peer writing consultants this fall.  Students from any major are encouraged to apply!

As a UWC consultant, you’ll help your fellow Aggies improve their written and spoken communication, working with them both in person and on line. In addition, you’ll present workshops, develop tutoring materials, and represent the UWC at campus functions.

Best of all, you’ll work in a supportive, creative environment in an on-campus job that helps you hone your interpersonal and communication skills. Working at the UWC is great preparation for graduate or professional school, as well as just about any career. Our former consultants are now lawyers, teachers, doctors, researchers, policy experts, artists, and engineers—and most still say working at the UWC was the best job they ever had.

Do you need to be a grammar nerd to work here? Nope. You do need to be a good student and comfortable talking to people.

As a consultant, you’ll earn certification from the College Reading and Learning Association, and we’ll pay you for the time you spend attending our training.

Undergrads start at $9 and grad students start between $12 and $15, with the opportunity to earn more if you complete additional training.

If this job sounds like something you’d be interested in, apply now!

We’ll be reviewing applications and conducting interviews in March and April.

The UWC is also looking for students interested in working as media interns and graphic designers. For more on those positions, contact Nancy Vazquez at nvazquez@tamu.edu.
